Message Just wanted to see where my car is at.

Traction > me.

Highlights include.... (I'm car 251)
Me missing 4th

My first run where I launched at ~3k, spun HARDCORE through 1st and second, and although I hit redline in 2nd, when I shifted into third it dropped down to ~2500rpm and I had to sit and wait for spoolage. Resulted in a NICE time, as you can see.

This ended up being my best slip, LOL. Like that '60ft? That's launching at ~2500, slipping the clutch, and still spinning through first and second. Happy with the MPH though. For some reason the numbers got screwy and a 3 got added to the end of my number, but I PROMISE it's my slip. I know because I knew the car I raced (an SR20 240).

As bad as my times were, and as stupid as it felt having ~200hp over almost everything I raced and still getting my ass kicked, I'm actually very happy with the result. I just wanted to make sure that my car is where it should be power-wise, and it seems to be, with a 109 trap speed (on a far from good run...). That's basically all I wanted to see. And judging from a timeslip like this (from Arnel's site)...

My car has easy mid 12's in it with traction, if I'm trapping higher than someone that's running 12.3's.

Today I learned that @ stage 3, street tires become useless under ~50mph. I would spin so badly that I'd have to let off or take it easy in first and second, basically giving me one gear on the track (3rd) that I could go all out on, since you're in 4th for only a second. Very frustrating to be beaten by an Accord, then trap 20mph higher, and playing catch-up to EVERYONE. Oh well. I've had my fill of drag racing. Saw what I wanted to see, now onto other things.
